Laws are not the problem. Production is.
Actually, I’d think sales would be the problem. That’s how they get in the hands of people who can’t properly handle the responsibility. And that’s probably where gun control laws would help.

Nonsense. If production was ‘the problem’, then producing more guns would result in proportionately more gun deaths. It doesn’t, do it isn’t.
Unenforced laws are a much larger part of the problem, since some people (but by no means all) will look at cases like the one I mentioned above and think that unsecured weapons and the tragedies that sometimes result from them carry no penalties.

Even sales aren’t really the issue. It’s more the whole gun culture in the US than anything else.

And I'm not even certain anything can actually be done about our toxic gun culture.

Really?
What' s this law that predicts future behavior?
Every law that they seem to come up with is aimed squarely at the people who buy their guns legally and for the most part - are not the problem.
What is the point of making the law abiding folks fill out the same paperwork over and over - for every gun they purchase?
How many billion man hours do you have to waste before you realize you have not done ANYTHING to stop gun violence?

The toxicity us in the anti gun camp - where they seek to eliminate all firearms through backdoor methodology - to make it too expensive andvtoo inconvenient to own firearms - all the while loudly proclaiming "nobody is going to take away your guns"...

And presumably misplaced paranoia (not even about politicians who favor gun control, but from a disproportionately large fear of the people who could potentially attack you if you weren’t packing) isn’t the slightest but toxic.
And the gun control laws, they’re less to predict future behavior and more to contain the problem. An imperfect solution, to be sure, but that’s what the point is.
Also, For the record, there is no real contradiction between saying “nobody’s coming to take your guns” and making it more expensive and inconvenient to own guns. Unless you think adding rules and regulations regarding firearms is the exact same thing as confiscating them, and, frankly, given how Crazy-wing your views have proven to be, I wouldn’t put it past you to believe exactly that.

What? Our firearm laws fucking suck. I can go out right now, and buy a firearm. Pretty sure most sane people reading this would worry if I actually did. I have no record, no fellony so I litterally could. Fortunately I hate guns, and haven't touched one since my early 20s.

When you quote my posts and then respond to them, I’d very much appreciate it if your reply was in some way connected to what I actually wrote. Thank you in advance.
And yes - I’d worry if you bought a gun, but not for the reasons you’re probably imagining.
