Eve in disobeying God was humankind going beyond the low yield survival of hunter gathering. Mankind lived off of what nature alone produced. Mankind hunted dangerous prey animals and women dug up tubers, roots, and picked fruits and various edible plants. Droughts and game depletions led to frequent starvation and little population growth.
Eve was perhaps women leading the way from Hunter-gatherer society by saying, "why don't we just capture live prey and raise them so we can eat their offspring, and planting some of those seeds to grow the grass that makes more edible seeds?"
Perhaps Adam hesitated. "I am a MAN and great Hunter. Hunting makes me me." But seeing brother Og bored by a hog and Wag gored by a stag, made him consider Eve's ideas. They gave up the hardships and pleasures, the pride and danger of Hunter Gathering for Pastoralism and later farming with more available food that could be stored and famines limited. Population grew and tribes became clans and villages.
The ultimate result was the rise of mankind conquering the world so successfully that he may cause ecological catastrophe.
