In part, it is that Christianity, by default, encourages people to reject all other myths as some sort of evil and, in turn, people who are not Christians as sinners. It has such wide sweeping connotations of hate and judgment that I find it unbearable. While I try not to judge Christians on the basis of their Christianity, it oftentimes feels like not judging a skinhead for being a neo-Nazi.
The tree of knowledge thing really bugs me. According to Genesis, Adam and Eve were not self aware until they ate from the tree. Now, how the fuck are they supposed to follow a rule that would require them to have some basic knowledge of self preservation if they are not self aware? It is like a parent making a "special" child a pie and then beating the child for eating it.
