I did enjoy the first one -- it was a Christmas movie
I actually liked both of them. I am simply looking back at script holes. Die Hard 3 was as bad as Beverly Hills Cop 3. As bad as Jaws 3.
I liked Die Hard 1 and 2, like I like Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 and Jaws 1 and 2.

It’s an action film. Plot holes are to be expected.

No kidding.
One of my favorite plot holes is from the movie "True Lies".
In it secret government agent "Arnold" the "Arnold", in the movie is chasing a middle east terrorist riding a motor cycle through Georgetown, a suburb of Washington DC, on a horse the script allocates it being taken from a DC cop. Anywho, the chase goes through the streets of Georgetown into DC. Eventually the bad guy, the middle east terrorist ends up in a garage and busts through some double doors and guess where he ends up? Having lived just south of DC/ Georgetown, I found it amazing that his bike was so fast that he ended up in the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. And when I saw this movie for the first time all I could think was, "Damn, that is a fast fucking bike."
