So green house gases arn't mess? Even if we cannot avert dangerous climate change, why not just clean our act up, to ther best of our ability at least. And yes, that includes things like the Pacific/World garbage dump and everything else.
By taxing the big pollution companies it makes them change the way the operate or close down, there is no other alternative and there is no easy way. It also makes renuables more viable in the market place. Eventually, renuables will be cheaper than fossil fuels and then we will see a dramatic change. A change for the better if you ask me. The less pollution we put into the eco-system the better, be it gas, solid or liquid.
