This is truly a non-confrontational response. I'm not bothered by things like this. At some point in the distant past I probably was, but I realized that these things aren't about me, so it just doesn't seem to be a good use of my mental energy. As a college student I got into a group called the SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronism. It's a mouthful that just means a bunch of nerds dressing up like knights and ladies and prancing about as if we were in a Renaissance Fair. That's when I realized I was a weirdo myself.
People can be whatever they want to be and be called whatever they want. There will come a time when gestating a baby will not be limited by one's type of genitalia, if civilization doesn't destroy itself that is. I do understand that not everyone is comfortable with things that stretch social conventions and I'm ok with that; I'm not trying to change people. But to me, if you want to be referred to as Felix the cat, then I got no reason to quibble. Doesn't mean I won't laugh a little, though.

Why is it so?
