Well, Catholics most certainly are Christians. They basically invented the term.
And if you are no longer Catholic, why would you say that past prayers continue to protect you or help you in some way? Are you saying you were actually praying to some other god back in Catholic school? If you prayed to Jesus while a Catholic, then you were praying to the Christian god. If you believe Jesus is not god, but rather some other entity is god (let's call it god X), then you were not praying to god X when you were a Catholic. So those prayers don't count and could possibly have offended god X. Jesus would certainly be pissed to hear about you praying to god X, so lets assume god X is also jealous. Or maybe you were just trying to be funny.
This is the kind of nonsense you consider logical.
