Well, this week I burned out yet another percolator. That makes three. I leave them on the stove and forget. I now buy the cheap ones,$30. I use the Italian style,in which the water is forced through the coffee under pressure, once. Even cheap coffee is OK,but good quality coffee is sublime. ("good quality" to me means about $20 a pound)
I have an electric ceramic top stove, so probably won't burn my house down.So far so good. I have an automatic dripolater, but hate it. Plungers are worse.
When I discovered Dunkin' Donuts and hot pastami on rye,I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The icing on that cake was those humungous cans of beer and that in the US you can buy beer from a DELI! (here not even the supermarkets sell alcohol)
However, I had the worst hot dog of my life in New York.

Personally I don't like the overly sweet shit that much. Give me good toast and eggs and coffee for breakfast, and fruit and coffee for "snack" when you'd be taking tea.
