He blamed racism, not white people. Unless, of course, you believe upholding of white supremacy (in the form of killing people who are protesting the killing of a black person by police) is part and parcel of white people existing. And, given that this is a Christmas parade and not a protest against racism, it's not reasonable at this point to default to racism.
Also worth noting, I actually have a first cousin once removed who was in the crowd of people. She's apparently fine.
