How is this going to help morbidly obese individuals who are in the process of eating themselves to death?
Really. Didn't know that.
I have a friend who weighs around 240kg (over 500lbs) He is invalid. IE he can walk from room to room in his house, with effort. Outside less than 100 metres.
His weight is going to kill him. (I asked my doctor). What's the polite euphemism he can use to pretend it's not happening?
I'm an alcoholic, and have been in recovery going on 20 years. I'm not offended by the term. What, are we going back to the nineteenth century and 'dipsomaniac' ?
Fortunately the American Medical Association doesn't decide which medical terms are socially acceptable in Australia.
It's that kind of soft, gutless language which took us from "Shell Shock" to "Battle Fatigue" to "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" (with apologies to George Carlin)
Fuck their political correctness and the disingenuous attitude that we mustn't offend others or the world will end.
