Science Poll!

RE: Science Poll!
A very good example showing how biases can skew results by limiting the possibilities to absurdities.

Science is a self-correcting human construct designed to minimize the biases and cultural influences with the goal of gaining understanding about the universe. At any given stage, the conclusions are tentative, and supported by the current evidence, but should always be regarded as the best approximation we have at the time. For science to progress, it requires many different perspectives to generate the hypotheses and discipline to test each idea rigorously to see not only when it works, but when it fails. Individual scientists are subject to the biases and influences of the cultures they are in, but because science is a multicultural activity and all ideas need to be tested, those biases tend to be reduced over time.
