Despite changing the methodology and criteria for acceptable evidence on at least two occasions all the study could point to was a former heart attack patient who could "recall" doctors trying to resucitate him a number of years after the heart attack. Said recollection read like an episode of ER and not what actually happens in such an event.
Of course before eventually releasing the study, Parnia sat on it for four years after completing it, there were plenty of interim reports which read "you won't believe the evidence we gathered of NDEs and the afterlife"; whereas the report was slipped out with no fanfare or publicity.
Professor Parnia is a scientist first, believer second. When a believer of a phenomenon can find no evidence for it, you know that it is bunk.
