I am at peace with myself; no one else should care.

And, honestly, that’s all that should matter. Unfortunately, people are fucked up and one of the two major political parties has decided you’re public enemy #1 because it took you years to catch up to who you really are.

My femininity has always been with me, from the very beginning. Fundamentalist Christians taught me from age 5 until my renunciation in high school that I was a willful sinner destined for eternal Hell. After that, psychologists classified me as a crossdressing pervert with a spot on the DSM-IV. In addition, until recently, I feared loss of employment, and, so, yes, it took some time to realize that I was neither a lost sinner, nor mentally ill, nor unemployable.
