Of course it's understandable for a black person to be hesitant about accepting individual white people as good people when first meeting them let's say, because plenty of white people do blame blacks for the situation they are in, or do distrust them right back based on being black, or deny privilege, and a whole other load of things.

While I don’t necessarily disagree with that on general terms, it’s more understandable for black people to distrust white people than the other way round. 

The people with less economic and political power than you are never the ones responsible for your bad situation. Kicking down might well be the purest form of bigotry imaginable.
