Notice the article says “boost heart disease risk,” not “cause heart disease.” And as others have mentioned, how much you are eating on a regular basis matters. Also, ham and bacon are heavy in sodium which also plays a role in the manifestation of cardiovascular disease over time.
What is the difference between "boost your heart disease risk" and "cause heart disease"?
