I think ignorance, denial and fear lead the way to homophobia and suppression of human rights. Religion has definitely done it's part in the past.
Then you question the belief in personal accountability from a religious group that takes it's example from Jesus who took responsibility for everyone's sin on the cross. I believe your blinders are about 10 sizes too ignorant to continue this conversation.
You are right that Christians think that he died for their sins.
IOW they try to profit from the murder of an innocent man to get them into heaven instead of taking responsibility for their own sins.
You are not stepping up to your responsibility while riding a scapegoat or using a sacrificial lamb.
The cornerstone of Christianity is human sacrifice, thus showing it‘s immorality.
