This is pretty likely to get the American ‘left’ mobilized - most USians didn’t want Roe overturned and continue to support access to abortion services. The state-level moves against abortion are unpopular even among most republicans. There’s a better-than-even chance that this is going to increase voter turnout among pro-choice Democrats, Republicans and independents.

Some Republicans are pro-choice; few Democrats are pro-life, at least in the political sphere.
This is true, but not the issue. You have to look at the long term balance of power on average, districting and judgeships that affect just about every aspect of everyone's life. It isn't as simple as focusing on one issue. It is absolutely true that one can be a Democrat and pro life. It is also possible for someone to be a Republican and accept nobody needs a weapon of war in their home. But only one party is holding the entire nation hostage, and not even a majority of that party, but the small minority of zealots that have become the litmus base for primaries. So the GOP only competes within their own by saying they can be more Trumpy than Trump. This cult of personality that party has been hijacked by is dangerous and it isn't just about abortion or guns. It is about their lust for power as a party and the sick desire to be the only power.
