Another SCOTUS ruling that is also very scary.

RE: Another SCOTUS ruling that is also very scary.
And yet ANOTHER theocratic fucked up ruling. It is now legal for PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, SUCH AS COACHES to hijack a school event and force anyone who wants to attend to listen to a prayer of a religion they may not support. This is yet another erosion of the Wall Jefferson rightfully argued for. The assholes on that court think they are expanding religious freedom, but they are actually doing the opposite. They are ignoring the separation of church and state and doing exactly what the First Amendment forbids. The First Amendment DOES protect religious freedom, but it does not protect setting up social pecking orders favoring one religion over another.

The problem with this ruling, is that if a player or coach or school student in the stands says they want to do the same thing representing a different religion, these fucking assholes would suddenly say it does violate the separation of church and state.

They do not want religious freedom, they want to be free to be the top of the social pecking order, and they want the federal government to codify that social pecking order.

There are 360,000 houses of worship of all denominations and every major religion on private property and still in view of public roads. They already have the ability to advertise their religions on social media too. They do not need to pee on every damned government bush like a lion marking it's territory.

Jefferson's Virginia Religious Freedom act basically said nobody can be forced to support a religion, and to me, that also means monopolizing a venue. Madison's final version of the First Amendment was modeled after that principle. You add to those things the oath of office and the Barbary Treaty article 11, and the fact that out of the 4,440 words in that Constitution, none of them are "Jesus" "Bible" or "Christian". It is very clear that the founders did not want the federal government or the state to set up a social pecking order based on a religious label.

I didn't start a new thread because these 4 big rulings are simply part of a long term push by the religious right to justify dominance over law. These 4 major rulings ARE a result of religious nutjobs sitting on our court. When we get falsely accused of wanting a godless society while they keep shouting "God, guns and bibles" they prove over and over that they do want a Christian fascist authoritarian government.
