Pretty sure I've seen a You tube presentation by a Maths type explaining how atoms/light speed 'Are' because of the 'How' "Space/time" works.
Still, there's enough rubble left floating around randomly from the initial accretion disk that any encounter between it and Earth will quite likely result in most foekes having a "Very bad day" ™.
