Relativist, subjectivist, and emotivist positions need not be consistent, however, and there is no virtue in consistency to admire in any of those views genuinely held. It could be good for society not to kill it's own killers, but to kill everyone else (and not just their killers). A person could hate the idea of being personally subjected to such a trial but love the idea of someone else being personally subjected to the trial..and we can, ofc, have complex and directly conflicting emotional and noncognitivist apprehensions over a single object or item or proposition. Things can be good for society or good for specific individuals or yum one day, but not the next day.
