I remember watching a Zoe Bee video that took on that book and Matt Walsh’s bullshit anti-trans kids book Johnny the Walrus.
Admittedly, I don’t quite agree with Jose’s contention that the morals they preach aren’t even all that stripped down from the adult versions, but I suppose that some people might not recognize much of a material difference between “they’re just playacting and people online* are going to make that fantasy a permanent reality for no clear reason” and “they’re just mentally ill.”
*Or a villainous vulture because of fucking course vultures are always treated as villainous.
