First, I'm not merely thinking about myself. Second, GDP growth and debt management helps me and everyone else, especially looking forward. Name some economic issues that effect me more along with the rich politicians who talk about GDP/debt ratio.
^Exactly this. Whether an issue affects or benefit me personally and immediately has precious little bearing on how I vote. I’ll never have an abortion, I don’t use drugs, I have no children, I’m straight, and I’m not a member of a racial minority. This doesn’t prevent me from supporting abortion access, legalized drugs, protections for children, and civil rights via my vote.
