“The old party is dead. Time to bury it. Build something new,” Hawley wrote. The 42-year-old Missouri Republican is among a younger group of Senate Republicans, who have expressed reservations for or straight opposition to current Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, 82.
Maybe he can run third-party, so to speak.
Another quote that is right up there with, "The second Civil War is right around the corner"-type quotes.
The Republican Party will likely never die; ditto for the Democrats, who can trace themselves all the way back to Andrew Jackson, which developed from the Jeffersonian Republicans. Instead, the Republicans will adapt to the existing socioeconomic climate and things like the whole abortion issue will go quietly in the historical dustbin of Jim Crow laws, the "monster bank", forced removal of American Indians from their lands, etc.
