The reason gutting roe was such a big deal is that it is exactly the example you were looking for. Where scotus rescinded a right taken to be afforded by the constitution as a reacharound to the domininionists who want to set up a theocracy in their states. It was such an aggressive move, that the clerics had to leak their own shit to keep the institutionalists from backing out. The plan was to boil the frog, not shoot it in the fucking face, lol.
Are you of the opinion that a federal law guaranteeing Roe v. Wade in all 50 states & territories is DOA? After all, who's the Sovereign Power, the United States of America or some State? Was not that question forever decided by the outcome of the Civil War?! From the perspective of United States case law, are not our rights & liberties guaranteed by the United States of America first and the state that we reside in second?? Would it not be an impeachable offense for a SCOTUS justice to claim that the United States federal government cannot govern??? Was not that power given exclusively to the Congress of the United States of America by the Constitution???
