I found a nice article on the shifting perception of LGBTQ persons among Muslims living in the US. Since 2007 the acceptance level of LGBTQ persons by traditional Muslims has increased from 27 % to 52 %. Today there are more people with this type sexual preferences who are still religious and are able to say “I think God loves me exactly as I am”. And the policy of many mosques is also shifting. The “you are not welcome here” approach is now leaving its place to a more tolerant “What you are doing in your private law is not my business and everyone is welcome to the house of God” approach.
