Democrats are far more authoritarian than Republicans.

Lol no they aren't  

The tq is one of my pet peeves.  People who use it often fail to realize that they've utterly foreclosed on any support of their own position - as a tq is explicit acknowledgement that A is certainly guilty of whatever they then allege B does as well.  

So, having handily acknowledged that republicans, for example, are authoritarians, the tq fails to land in the face of mere reality..where are large portion of democrats failure to govern even when they have power is down to their reticence to so much as appear to be authoritarian....if you squint..sideways... with the right lighting, and if the person squinting is a reich wing nutter.....and for all of their trouble and limp wristedness on this count, said reich wing nutter will still make the claim anyway.

My absolute favorite disparity in latent authoritarian impulses between our silly parties..is how republicans stack every level of government as often as they can whenever they have the ability to do so, while democrats seem to believe that they should put forward right wing hacks in positions of power as a consolation prize to the other guy for having lost the faith of the voters. We say the us doesn't negotiate with terrorists...but that's not really true, is it.
