He says a lot of things in pitiful attempts to make himself seem less stupid than he is, or insinuate himself into your confidence or your pity. At one time he claims to have had AIDS and cured himself through prayer, at another he claimed to be a successful inventor who built a major Air condition business out of his own patents, insinuated he had the patent certificates to prove it, but resolutely declined to provide the patent number when asked.
I'm sorry but he always came across as sincere to me, misguided, but sincere. He was certainly devout. Bulshittery because of delusion... ie pretzel logic, confirmation bias, mental gymnastics etc is one thing... but outright lying is quite another, and I have no reason to think he did. Indeed I vaguely remember a few of us having a Skype chat with him once and him offering to show us around his premises, so I personally have no doubt he has a business. Did he exaggerate the details of it?, maybe, who knows, but outright lie about it I sorely doubt. Likewise if a theist claims they were cured of some illness by God, it's not them having an illness that I doubt, but their attribution of the cure to God. And especially if having had such illness is obviously formative in their very belief system in the first place, that again gives me less reason to doubt.
