Not really. There could be an eternal first cause, which means reality always existed since it would at least contain this first cause.

 Don't be stupid. Causation is an EVENT, and eternal causation is meaningless.

You're still missing the POINT. 
If there is a First Cause, it must create Reality, or it's not a First Cause. 
If there is a Reality which "contains" the first cause, it's meaningless, as the First Cause "contained in Reality" which it causes, ,,, creates itself.
