I think it's more the case that religion doesn't have to be hate speech...so when it is, we have to give the religious credit for work done.

to be fair,  a religion wouldn’t survive to be noticed, much less gains a world wide following,  if it wasn’t hate speech, regardless of the fact that some may be smart enough to see it is impolitic to always be too transparent about it.

Religion can never prove itself true.   It could only appeal to people’s various wishful thinking, irrational fears, and susceptibility to logical fallacies.   To persuade those to whom the prepared collection of appeal to wishful thinking, irrational fears, and susceptibility to logical fallacy isn’t quite enough to convince, it must use what is in effect hate speech to demonize alternatives to make progress.     This is one fact none other t han our friend loaded dice has been kind enough to take pains to demonstrate.      If a religion didn’t have thr likes of him, it can never aggrandize itself beyond a very small group.
