How does someone else's misdirection, or an inconsequential focus on the same profit me and my personal standing / status before the holy, Almighty GOD?

 I am always curious what theists and apologists, hope to achieve by quoting the bible at atheists? I mean would you be swayed by someone quoting the koran or the Bhagavad Gita to you? I can't fathom the rationale? You realise it's also unlikely that atheists believe in supernatural curses like sin?
