I cant say it's surprising that when you hear of an all-powerful God the only thing you can think is, "How can he benefit me though?"

It's a nice post; Christians have been dealing with the concept of "in-group/out-group" since the writing of the Book of Acts and one that we thankfully got sorted out pretty quickly; rejecting the insular and ethno-centric legal beliefs of Rabbinic/Pharisaic Judaism and instead embracing an ideology that allowed all ethnicities and women to be both welcomed into the fold and gave them a prominent role in the faith.
The Catholic Church is doing everything it can to provide support to those at the border; unfortunately most border Catholic communities are significantly economically struggling themselves and the broader Church has been barely keeping itself afloat.
