Its a popularly supported delusion...any other delusion would be mocked back into the closet or treated by professionals.
#1 - DNA very much came from a lifeless source. Anyone with even the slightest education in science knows that DNA is made of Hydrogen, Carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen....all 4 of which are lifeless elements.
DNA is proof positive that life comes from lifelessness. All you have to do is study science.
#2 - If you are using buildings from humans as a proof that the cosmos needs a builder, and you REALLY believe it is a good argument, then you must also believe that there are thousands of Gods, each doing a small part to build the cosmos.
Just as I can point out that a building cannot be built by one man, if we use this argument then apparently the cosmos required many creators.
And why do they have to be gods? Why can they be scientists who created an alternate reality who created us and then let us be? Why do they have to be all powerful and all knowing? From what I see, if this world is designed by intelligence, then that intelligence was either faulty or malevolent. No loving god would design the flagellum of a flesh eating bacteria.
Besides, I have always laughed hard and mocked people who say shit like "See that building! It didnt build itself. Someone had to make. I feel the same way about the universe."
There is so much fail in that statement that sometimes I am speechless to see grown and otherwise intelligent humans honestly using it as a "convincing" argument.
