So, I take it that your lawyers didn't warn you that the benefits to pleading insanity when you're not actually insane are minimal? The only real benefit is the death penalty is off the table.

That's not entirely true. As someone who has spent time in both a prison and a high-security psych ward, the latter is much to be preferred.
