Remember that I actually am autistic, professionally diagnosed. I’m only making light of something I’ve had to live with for 35 years.
Plus, I actually do see The Dude and Walter as making a lot of sense through an autistic lens, particularly the Dude’s echolalia (which helped bring me out of a barely-verbal phase as a kid), and some (though decidedly not all) of Walter’s freak outs could easily be seen as part of an autistic extreme sense of justice:
(FTR: there are loads of clips that I could use to demonstrate The Dude’s echolalia, but I’m not showing them here because they use the word Ch*n*m*n, and would really prefer to not violate Rule 7.)
And The Big Lebowski isn’t even close to the only great movie I could make autistic arguments for.
