Since  atheism is not a belief, or a claim, it is the absence or lack of one particular belief, they seem to be  going against that trend. In many parts of the world, at no small risk as well. 

You do not have an absence of belief. 

That is precisely what atheism is, and precisely what I have.

Your brain doesn't just go blank if I ask about your thoughts on any number of propositions regarding God.

Indeed, but then I never claimed atheists don't hold beliefs, only that atheism is not a belief, but the lack or absence of one, it has neither dogma nor doctrine. 

You cannot be as verbose as you are and truly think your brain goes into a comatose state when constructing beliefs.

I shan't even feign surprise that you ignored the main point, which is that your claim to understand the psychology of atheists is not just woefully incorrect, but at odds with well established psychological research.
