The notion that people who don't believe in the god of Christianity because of bad experiences with the god of Christianity is overwhelmingly refuted by the fact that around a third of the world doesn't believe in the god of Christianity for other reasons.
A member of a different religion will have positive attitudes and beliefs about their own diety and negative ones towards mine, almost by default. And to the extent that they don't have them, they will be more or less open to arguments about the Christian God.
