Irrelevant? Not to anyone familiar with statistics, determining sample size is one of the first steps. You can't call a sample size insufficient just because you think it's small, you have to actually calculate it.

I pointed to two Christians I know as an example of how some Christians think of theology. Thump concluded from this that these are the only two Christians I know and that my entire knowledge of how they think comes from this pair.

That's not at all what happened, not even close.

So I suspect this is true of the majority. And it's the reason why trying to dissuade them from Christianity by asking for objective evidence of a prime mover -- or something like that -- is a niche hobby for people on line, but doesn't make much difference in their lives.

The inference is pretty clear, it was you who cited this anecdotal chat with two people, then made the assertion enlarged and underlined.
