KichigaiNeko Wrote:Xtians did hold back science ...please don't get me started on the witch hunts and Inquisition.
the Inquisition was not about science. that was purely religion vs relition and some politics involved.
KichigaiNeko Wrote:The Plagues mostly affected xtian Europe as I understand it... their standards of hygiene were very low.
no it affected everyone in europe the same. they all had the same hygiene standards reguardless of religion.
KichigaiNeko Wrote:Xtianity has always seen science as a threat to it's continuance..as if science can not only FIND this godhead but also supply it's phone/ mail/email addresses and so rendering the 'church' redundant.
no, christians always helped science. science was funded by the church in the day. the only time they treated a scientific theory blasphemy was already mentioned on my last post. if you have more examples feel free to share.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
