But if I am correct the key date is 1832 with the “First Reform Act” broadening the power of the Parliament and limiting the power of other feudal bodies in the government.
 
But for me the time when the British Monarchy became symbolic was when British rule in all the colonies ended. Today England is a nation like many others. Not an empire. (And I don’t think you are a subject. Not in the real sense of the word )
