When I was in Basic Training, we received a couple of days' classroom indoc on the UCMJ. It was repeatedly drilled into our heads, at least hourly, that we had a positive duty to refuse illegal orders. This is something the greenest E-1 learns within days of enlisting.
It's hard for me to express the depth of my contempt for Hegseth. Words fail me. He should have been fragged years ago.
