I also watched someone play one of the Silent Hill games on YouTube... as well as other horror games like Alien: Isolation and The Forest... great to watch but definitely not my cup of tea to play. The Forest in particular is almost magical to me in memories, and if they made a film of it I'd definitely watch it. That's the only horror/survival game I've played, with a friend, albeit in the 'peaceful' no-monster mode (well there is one, the final boss, but other than that just animals), where it's just about survival, building, hunting, swimming, and exploring, mainly caves. I'd really recommend that if you like horror games. There's a sequel as well but it's nowhere near as good a story IMO (or in my memory)... definitely prefer the first one.
Horror games aren't really my thing, but I'm not afraid to leave my comfort zone for a well-made game. I would have never learned to enjoy video games if I'd stuck to my comfort zone.
Good for you... they're way too stressful for me to play
I guess I'm the opposite.
