It's that we seek out sandwiches whether we need them or not because they're useful in synthesizing the components required to build and maintain biological structures which are capable of a novel sort of calculus that underpins competitive and reproductive success.
Actually I largely agree with these words. I was speaking more from the standpoint of atheistic pansychism just to make a point. Personally I believe my body is asleep, but the (physical) soul within my body is awake. God has chosen to keep that soul (normally) hidden from our eyes,just like He normally He hides angels from us.
