I have an image of overly polite gents caught in a greetings loop suffering dehydration and death, their corpses to shrivelled to temp even a dog.

It's also a problem with over-politeness at doors. "You first." "No, you first." That's why there are always flowers outside buildings.

As for the kitty, thanks, Pud. Perhaps aleialoura might like one too. I have to say that I've never trusted cats for many good reasons.
