Cool. I grew up in Warsash, so I know Southampton fairly well. And Darwinian (one of the admins) is from Gosport. Think there's someone else down that way, also.

Anyway, welcome. What brings you here?

Cheers, ElDinero. The main reason I'm here is just to interact with people who have different perspectives to me. I find the reasons people have for their views of the world fascinating, as well as how those views affect the way they live. On another level, I find much of the debate between atheists and Christians in particular to be deeply sub-human on both sides. I'm seeking people who are honestly engaging with others in real, meaningful discussion, acknowledging their biases, their doubts, their ignorance and their indifference. I find that the more I try to do this myself, the more consistent and coherent my belief-system becomes. (I have deep suspicions that at least half of the things I believe are probably false. The trick is finding out which half. ) So I'm hoping that amongst the trolls and the flamers (Christian apologist types included) there will be some human beings in here.
