If someone says something that I think is unrealistic, but sounds cool, then I am honest with them. If someone says something I think is dispicable, then I am honest with them. THAT is the give and take. What I could not stand is a discussion with Pat Robertson. He would not budge and he would be a dick the entire time. He would not admit that he has just as much chance of Thor existing as his Jesus. Faith is faith, and for the most part I dont poo poo it. It depends on how "certain" they are of their faith is what I distrust. The same distrust you should have with someone who thinks God talks to him personally while being in control of something that could cause mass destruction...like an airliner or the launch authority for a nuclear assault.
THAT is torment to me... being forced to live around people who think a God talks to them.
