Which demographic is that? His description is quite acurate of the average American. The only part I disagree with is that we're doomed, but I would be amiss not to think that it's going to take a lot of work and change not to completely fall behind all other countries.
I asked the 8 people in cubicles around me if that was their view and at the most each only chose one reflected their view at most, and non of them thought America was doomed for that reason. We're all average American's most of them are atheist or anti-religion, all make about the same thing, all work in the IT field and are roughtly 30-40. That's the demographic I used as a reference.
