Hooligans may come in all religions, but some religion are more overt in promoting hooliganism in the name of piety.
The hooliganism that came in response to the Danish cartoons is one example.
But we're talking football here.
Quote:Expect a stampede in England, can you be serious? When since the late 80's and early 90's have we had problems? Try closer to home Mehmet. Not a stampede, maybe, but I could expect some sort of an outrage.
But again, you can never know, so I surely wouldn't be sure.
Also, I wouldn't expect riots that go for such a long time like those in Britain in Turkey...Most people wouldn't stand for such a thing.
Quote:Football hooliganism has died in the UK, of course some still do it, I know a couple of hoolies, but they say it's died. Try another country like Italy, Greece, Turkey or Holland.Well, seeing that so many movies were made that deal with the explicite subject of hooliganism in UK, I could certainly say that it made a name for itself. But of course, it could be in decline right now, good for you. But it did won you some worldwide fame for it, did it not?
Quote:But I do agree that it happens anywhere, but your stereotype of England is laughable given the reputation of Turkish fans, which is more correct to this era.Sorry, but why do you try to change the subject? I'm not trying to attack your country, so why going on counteroffensive?
I could tell you how hooliganism manifests itself in Turkey for sure, I was amongst the cheerleaders of the fanclub of Göztepe in Izmir, when I was still a hot-blooded youngster several years ago, and god knows how many knives, flares, cleavers I carried past the main stadium gate with my position as a cheerleader, and used them in fights that resulted in with our main rivals, Karşıyaka 35.5...Hooliganism manifests itself as harsh as it does in England.
However, I simply used England as a non-moslem example where football-related incidents occur.
Quote:Then you aren't paying attention. Consult Nigeria/Israel/Indonesia for recent examples. Then please explain how these constitute examples to hooliganism and football related incidents.
