Navy atheist required to pray, say “Amen”, and feign hatred of atheists

RE: Navy atheist required to pray, say “Amen”, and feign hatred of atheists
Well, just keep in mind that an order like that would never be given in a vacuum. A successful process of indoctrination, and conditioning for as much automatic response as possible is the goal...in other words, a soldier might actually raise their gun on orders just because it's been drilled over and over and over..and then..with the gun raised...have second thoughts. Or maybe not.

Lock and load your seven round magazine and watch, your lanes. The objective is always dehumanized first, it's never a person, but a target, an enemy combatant, an enemy asset, etc etc etc, but never ever do you refer to them as people, because they aren't.

I don't mean to paint a negative picture here, and soldiers are told that they have no obligation to comply with an illegal order, increasingly the army stresses intelligent professional soldiers over dumb joes. But it's a little more complicated than all that.

(ah, also, figured I might want to add that my experience in the army was devoid of conscientious objectors, or time to think an order through in a calm reasoned manner, and my experiences should not be taken as indicative of the army in it's entirety in all cases, I got the triple dose of hooah is all)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
