Well, in my point of view, the dependency on American arms and intel is a sign of weakness, on our part.
It's best that we develop our own weapons and systems, instead of relying on the US.
If the US decides in a future war that we might be involved in with someone else, that helping the other side helps it's interests further, we are basically fucked, as our weapon systems, and weapons are of foreign design.
Our army also supports weapons and systems designed in Turkey, and did so in the past until some other pro-capitalist politician came by and decided that public-owned weapons manufacturers were against the free market.
