America has a lot of partners and allies amongst Sharia countries.
Really, this is the democracy that only America can bring anywhere.
The taliban themselves were once close associates of the CIA, during the Soviet-Afghan war. I normally wouldn't say this, but I'd say that Afghanistan would have been a much better country under Soviet rule.
I only weep for my poor Uzbek and Turkmen brethren who have to live under the Pashto and Tajik yoke, and have to put up with the bullshit of the invading NATO force at the same time.

The Taliban is particularly brutal when it comes to enforcing their own brand of the Sharia. I can't really call it a law either, as they are like *vigilantes*, who do not seem to consult any known clerics on that matter either.
The law that has been enacted, although backwards, seems to be in complience with the Sharia.
Throwing acid on people's faces is not, however it does not have to be: the Taliban are known to kill people who refuse to join their ranks, with all of them being fellow Moslems.
